Ian Mountford caught a 10lb Silver Sea-liced Salmon Wednesday 6th July 2011.The only Salmon reported on the entire Tay system yesterday.

Ian Mountford, on his first visit to Dalguise, caught the only reported Salmon on the entire Tay system on Wednesday 6th July 2011.

Ian’s beautiful Silver Sea-liced 10lb Salmon was caught at the Tail of The Island at 11am. Ian was fly fishing with a sink tip line and an orange flame thrower fly.

The 10lb Salmon was safely returned, very well done.

Glenn Baikie caught a fantastic Silver 16lb Salmon after 3 casts, on The Casting platform,Bridge Pool, Thursday 30/6/11

Glenn Baikie caught a fantastic Silver Salmon, 16lb from The Casting Platform, Bridge Pool, this afternoon. It was only his third cast after lunch and after an epic fight his Salmon was carefully netted,  measured and safely returned to the river. Glenn from Hertfordshire is a regular visitor to Dalguise, this is the largest Salmon he has caught to date. Glenn was fishing with a copper 30g Salmo lure. Very well done Glenn.

Colin Henderson, after losing a Salmon in the morning, caught and landed a beautiful Silver Sea-liced 14lb Cock Salmon,  in The Boils, at The Tail of The Guay Pool in the afternoon. Colin was fishing with a sink tip line and a size 10 Yellow Ally’s fly. Very well done Colin.

John Christison caught a Sea-liced Salmon, 11lb on The Casting Platform,Tuesday 31st May 2011

John Christison, from Dundee,  caught a Sea-liced 11lb Salmon from The Casting Platform, on his first visit to Dalguise.

He was fishing with his wife Pauline and it wasn’t until 5.30pm on Tuesday 31st May, that he hooked his first Salmon from Dalguise. After a good fight, Stan netted his fish, which was then safely returned to the river. John caught his Salmon on a copper/silver 30g Salmo. Water height was 1.9m.

Hope this will be the first of many, well done John.

It was caught by The Rowan Tree in The Otterstone Pool in the afternoon.

John caught his Salmon on a black & gold floating devon minnow.

The Salmon was expertly netted by fellow angler, Brian Joseph.

It was weighed and safely returned to the river to continue it’s journey.

Malcolm from Somerset, caught his 6lb fresh run, sea -liced silver Salmon in Sarah’s Spot ,at the bottom of The Otterstone Pool, on a size 6 Cascade.

As regulars to the beat will know, we present a Trophy every year, for the biggest fish landed during the season.  Mr Malcolm Bennett, from Somerset, who landed and returned a Silver 22lb Salmon during his visit in August 2010, presently holds the Dalguise Trophy.

The Salmon was a fresh run, silver, sea-liced fish, weighing 9lb.

It was caught by Fen in the afternoon at The Tail of The Island.

Fen was using a floating line with a 10ft fast sinking poly leader.

The Salmon was caught on a size 6 Cascade.

Neil Dyson from Preston had a great day at Dalguise. In the morning he lost a Salmon on a floating devon in the Otterstone Pool, but by the afternoon he had safely landed two 12lb Springers in The Guay Pool both on an orange flying ‘c’. These were the first two Springers he has ever caught, well done.
