The first Salmon caught on Dalguise for Richard Greenwell

was a 10lb Salmon at the Tail of the island caught in the morning,

whilst harling with a Lemon Kynoch and the Salmon was safely returned.

 a lovely 5lb Grilse in The Guay Pool this morning,

 and lost another one shortly after, on

Wednesday 17th August.

 He was fly fishing with a size 9 Park Shrimp Fly.

The river conditions are perfect today

 and plenty of Salmon have been seen on the beat.
Very well done, congratulations on your first salmon.

8lb Silver Salmon caught on Tuesday 16th August 2011, at The Otterstone

Steve from The Gerry Bowman party caught a lovely Silver 8lb Salmon, whilst harling The Otterstone Pool on Tuesday morning. His Salmon

was caught on a pink/pearl Kynoch and safely returned to the river.

Malcolm Bennett caught two fantastic fresh run Salmon on Tuesday 9th August 2011,25lb & 6lb. John Cross caught a 3lb Grilse on Tuesday 9th August

Malcolm caught both of his Salmon fly fishing

 with a Cascade fly in The Guay Pool.

Malcolm holds the Trophy for the biggest fish caught at Dalguise in 2010, and has landed the biggest fish, so far for 2011 with his modest estimate of 25lb for 2011.

John Cross caught his 3lb Grilse whilst worming The Tail of The Island.

All fish were safely returned.Very well done to you both.

Mark Findlay caught a 7lb Salmon on Friday 5th August 2011

Mark, who is a local regular at Dalguise, caught his 7lb Salmon

 whilst fly fishing in The Otterstone Pool. The Salmon was safely returned.

Dr Sandip Datta, caught an 16lb Silver Salmon on Thursday 4th August 2011

This was a personal report from Dr Sandip Datta of a successful day he had on the middle Tay last week.

 We were fishing Dalguise on Thursday and I caught a lovely 16 pounds sea liced summer salmon, at the tail of the Island. The fish gave a great account of itself and was safely returned.”

Adam Joseph caught a 12lb Salmon, on Friday 29th July 2011.

4 Sea Trout were caught on The Beat on Wednesday 27th July 2011

by The Brian Joseph party. They were all aroundĀ  2lb.

4lb Grilse caught at The Tail of The Island, Monday 25th July 2011

 at The Tail of The Island on Monday 25th July 2011, at 4 pm.

He was fishing with a black/gold flying ‘c’. The fish was safely returned.

Two other Salmon were lost,one in The Neck of The Bridge Pool

 and one in The Bay of The Bridge Pool.

Plenty other Salmon were showing on the beat.

Lloyd Carnegie from Laurencekirk, caught a 6lb Silver, Sea-liced, Fresh run Grilse from The Tail of The Guay Pool. Thursday 7th July 2011. The only Salmon reported on the whole Tay system.

 in The Tail of The Guay pool at 3pm on Thursday 7th July 2011.

This was the first Grilse of the season for Dalguise

 and had been in the river for less than a week.

It was caught whilst harling from the boat on a pink/pearl Kynoch.

The Grilse was safely landed and returned to the river.

Again the only fish reported on the whole of the River Tay System on Thursday.

In the morning a Salmon of around 20lb was caught harling  in The Tail of The Guay Pool 

and was played for a few minutes, but came off before it was landed.

There were a lot of Salmon and Grilse showing in all the pools at Dalguise yesterday. The Grilse certainly have now arrived.
